Blank finish Like Outcast

Gents I was looking at The Mudhole Site at the Outcast blanks and thought too bad an individual builder can't finish a blank like that. Then it occurred to me that maybe a builder could do it. DuPont Chromallusion Paint. I called a Dupont guy I know and asked him about painting and clearcoating a rod blank and how much flex the paint and clear coat will take and how it would hold up to sun/sand/salt. He said it should hold up fine and was flexable enough as well. The big issues are spraying equipment and safety. Don't know if anyone would want to go to the trouble or the expense, pint of chromallusion + the chemicals would probably run about 500-600 $ per pint, but just think a color thats all yours even possible to go Chromallusion +metal flake. Fancy Sportfishing Yaghts and the like might be willing to pay. A pint would do a whole bunch of rods too. Probably dumb of me but what the heck. Warren Re: Blank finish Like Outcast

I think I'll just buy an OutCast and get the finish that way. Should be cheaper. Seriously, once I get involved in fishing I guess I don't really notice the finish or color of the blank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
