I just got some unpanted blanks in. What can of paint do I use and is there anything I should put over the blank after I paint it before building the rod. Where will I be able to get these items.
Thanks

Do a search here on items like "finishing" or "painting" and I think you will uncover a ton of good info on how to paint and finish those blanks. I am thinking you would be well advised to try to use some color pigment in a urethane and complete the painting and finishing in one step. There was a thread on how to do this here on this board within the past few weeks. A quick search should uncover it.

Question why would you want to paint a new blank? I have done older rods by scuffing the blank with scotch bright (gray color) pad then painting it with a auto urithane color..Personaly I think it is a pain to do it my self. So I take my rods to a local auto body shop tobe done.
Their painting enviroment is much better than mine at home.
Wife hates the smell
Good luck Bob
