fly rod balancing

Very nice board you have here. I wanted to mention that I made the 'double ended' reel seat as depicted in the last issue of Rodmaker. It effectively balances the rod with almost any reel I can put on it. I would never have thought that being able to move the reel just a half inch in either direction would make so much difference in terms of rod balance.

Thanks to everyone for the help and advice shared on this board.

What is a double ended reel seat and where would you see one or get one?

By utilizing a moveable hoods/nut on both ends of the seat, instead of only one end, you can position the reel so that it balances the rod to your particular tastes.

The info and how-to were in the Volume 4 #3 issue.
