I would like some blank suggestions for a noodle rod. 10' 6" for 6 lb. line 3/8 or slightly less baits. Slow action, yet butt strength. Not so much for casting distance as the overall feel for quality and lure presentation and fish fighting steelhead. This is a spinning configuration. I've checked into St. Croix, Rainshadow, Shikari, Lamiglass, GUSA, and Talon. Nothing I liked or was listed. I'm picky. What/who thinks? Rich Solyrich Custom Rods Re: Noodle Rods...any suggestions

Huh. Well, then, I guess I'm stumped. Far and away the most popular brands along the Great Lakes, at least for custom builds, are St. Croix, Lamiglas, and Pacific Bay. All for steelhead and salmon drift fishing. Many are built into fly rods, as well as the traditional spin configuration. Most of the drift boat operators use fairly cheap "off the shelf" rods, but I'd sure like to change that, heh heh. Dunno what to suggest. Maybe if you tell us what was lacking in the rods you looked at, someone would have an idea. Bob Re: Noodle Rods...any suggestions

Nothing lacking for me, just a customer request. Ya know we aim to please. Preference is 10'6" . I'm familiar with St. Croix (we're the Canadian distributor), and Shikari has only 11'. I know the idea of 'cutdown' but am avoiding this for 'predictability' not experimentation at this time. Loomis may be the one, I'll check. By the way this will be an east coast steelhead rod from shore casting from shore. No drift boats, that I'm aware of. I could check some fly categories, but again want predictability. I would build this with TiCarb guides from Forecast (Batson ent.) and the guy uses a Daiwa 1300SS or Shimano Stradic 2000. Thanks, Rich www.solyrich.com Re: Bob
