Calstar's New Warranty

Tackle Specialties just made an announcement that effective 1/1/2002 all warranty claims on Calstar blanks that are not found to defective in material and/or workmanship are subject to a minimum of a $15 charge for replacement.

Apparently, some people have been taking advantage of the lifetime warranty.

You have to remember that to many fishermen, any rod that breaks is defective. They're supposed to be unbreakable you know. The term lifetime warranty also causes problems. Makes it sound like they are supposed to be unbreakable. They need to do a better job saying the lifetime warranty is against actual defects. Then again, $15 is pocket change to have a blank replaced.
