I was considering trying one of Hook & Hackle(H&H) blanks to build a salmon/steelhead rod that I would only use occationally. Has anyone used either the IM6 or the GTX57 series blanks from H&H? They advertise they are made by a well-known US manufacturer and have a warranty. Any info would be appreciated! Steve Other Choices

I have not tried the H&H so cannot report directly on them. Two blanks I have tried recently are those in the RainShadow and Lamiglas Perigee lines. Both were simply outstanding. The Perigee is one of the lightest and easiest casting blanks I have ever used. The Rainshadow offers performance and quality that you would not expect from their very inexpensive price. I think anyone who tries either of these will find them exceptional. ............................... H&H blanks

I have used a few of their IM6 blanks. Fair I guess, but nothing to write home about. Not much power in the higher line weights. I'd stick to a St. Croix or maybe the Rainshadow mentioned. Not much more money if any. That's just my opinion. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
