I'm going to build a 6 weight rod on an FT blank in the near future. Can anyone give me some sort of distinction between the 9' and 10' besides just the length of rod? Or has he kept the action reasonably consistant between the 2? Also, has the FTL made it out yet? I would love to give one of those a try as well. Re: Dan Craft FT 6 weight

The 8'6" and 9' FT models are very fast with AAs in the mid to upper-70s. The 10' FT models are not as fast with AAs ranging in the 60s. Dan announced that the FTLs were in and that he is sending them to me for CCS testing. I will post the data on the FTLs as soon as I get them. I'm excited about them too. Edited 1 time(s). I have a some FT rods in 9 and 10 feet version. The longest ones works more toward the bottom and may be better for spey/switch/rollcast. The nine foot is no bromstick . I know that the cc dat says itop action rod but I do not feel it as a broomstick. Both models are recommended. Re: Dan Craft FT 6 weight

Haven't cast the 10 foot FT.....but my 9ft 7 wt is WAY great.
I agree with Terje...While it CC's high...It is a joy to cast. LIght, sensitive, terrific. I recommend the 9 ft FT's very highly...but I can not compare them to the 10 fters...and that was your actual question....sorry. Keith Re: Dan Craft FT 6 weight

Way Great is a pretty accurate description of the 9ft 7 wt. I also have 10ft 5wt and love it to. I would suggest calling Dan and asking him which would suit your reguirements best. I like both rods, maybe 10 ft more, but have had it longer and used more. There both very nice , do search, there is lots of info. I,m also looking forward to casting the FTL.
