Where can I get material and info. to make a new top section with a spigot / plug furrel on it to make a friend happy? I've called a few of the sponsors of this site but, were unable to help telling me that its an outdated method and material is not available. Please help, its a nice rod someone had built for him and he wants to fish with it again. Thanks Dennis Re: Spigot/plug furrels

You have several options if you are willing to spend the time. First, you might try to get a replacement top section from the original supplier. Failing that, all is not lost as you may be able to find a short blank section that would match closely enough to serve as a replacement tip section for what you have. You could hunt down a new section, or seek garage sales and the like for old rods that might serve as a donor. Complete instructions on how to make spigot/plug ferrules can be found in the volume 4, issue #1 of RodMaker. Go to the back issue page at www.rodmakermagazine.com. Obviously, this would require some time and effort on your part, but it can be done if your friend really wants his rod repaired. ...................... Re: Spigot/plug furrels

Reelman, Thanks for the tip but, the answer was right under my nose in vol. #4 - issue #1 of RodMaker. Thanks again, Dennis Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
