Can any of the experienced rod builders give me their opinions on this blank (Loomis SJ902 IMX) for large crank baits (3/4-1oz)? How would this blank work? Thx Re: Loomis SJ902 IMX For Crank Baits?

I would think pretty darn well. I've handled a couple and the tips are pretty soft. If, that is, the kind of thing you're looking for. I use one of these blanks for tossing plugs to sea trout and really like it. Don't see why it wouldn't make a nice bass cranking rod. Re: Loomis SJ902 IMX For Crank Baits?

The SJ902IMX is actually the same blank as the P904GL3. Just my own opinion, but I prefer the GL3 for crankin'. It is a little more forgiving and will take a little more pressure, when using baits of the size you are speaking of. The GL3 may be a better choice for the condition of fishing with the big baits!!
