How do you come up with the location of the choke guide one a casting rod? Is it done in the same manner as the spinning rod?if so how do you find the center line on a casting reel?

There is no choke guide location on a casting rod. (Read the article in the Nov/Dec 2000 RodMaker). The system on such a rod really entails getting your guide size reduced quickly and then using the smallest and lowest guides you can.

I read alot about choke guide size and distance from the casting reel. Do we forget that the real choke guide is on the reel setting about a 1/2 inch from the spool and is about a size 6? Just my thoughts on the subject.

And for those who may not understand that, let me add that you're talking about the level wind opening.
