How do you come up with the location of the choke guide one a casting rod? Is it done in the same manner as the spinning rod?if so how do you find the center line on a casting reel? Re: choke guide placement

There is no choke guide location on a casting rod. (Read the article in the Nov/Dec 2000 RodMaker). The system on such a rod really entails getting your guide size reduced quickly and then using the smallest and lowest guides you can. .............. Re: choke guide placement

I read alot about choke guide size and distance from the casting reel. Do we forget that the real choke guide is on the reel setting about a 1/2 inch from the spool and is about a size 6? Just my thoughts on the subject. Re: choke guide placement

And for those who may not understand that, let me add that you're talking about the level wind opening. .................................. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
