One of those is considerably shorter than the other.

Tom, I am sorry but I think you are right - Bobby is fishing and I want to talk to him before I take this picture down. If I remember correctly the bottle on the right was hanging considerably below the one on the left which indicated a softer and slower blank - so much so that I asked him to take a picture. The blanks were tip aligned when we started the comparison of this pair. Bobby went to get his camera and walked over to place the square red dot for perspective - there is a chance that he bumped the blanks being compared or he even may have taken more than one camera shot. I did not notice the difference when I posted the picture. When I talk to Bobby I will either change the picture or apologise to all and re do the set up and change out the picture. Sorry all we are trying! This was not intentional.

You're on the money now. Assuming the weight of the bottles is the same, you have two blanks with the same power but slightly different actions.

Are these the same company same model blanks, or 2 different companies? That slight variance betweenblanks will onlybe noticed when doing a side by side comparison likethis, in actual fishing tehre will be very, very few people who can tell one bends differently than the other, especially if they are not told to compare the 2 rods.

Two different blanks. The on water performance issues to a skilled bass fisherman are more pronounced than the apparantly small chartable differences. In this specific case the difference in action is more significant than the power issues. I cannot tell the difference while holding in hand. Fishermen are just as guilty as rod builders in their missunderstanding of the actions terms of fast. Bobby's use of this process has really turned me aroung.
