I've been having some fun with a project. I cast a fly into a piece of imitation ivory. I like the results and have a couple of other prototypes in the works for a spinning rod.

Cool stuff. I picked up some casting resin myselfa while back, havent' gotten around to using it yet though. Entire grip looks like it should be on a mantle - classy

Mark

That is excellent. Any chance you could shoot an email with what type of resin you used and a bit about your process? I would love to try this.

Guy's thanks for the kind words. Scott I sent you an e/mail, I think that Terry Henson (Thanks Terry for the inspiration) has a tutorial some place. The only difference is I used polyester casting resin instead of flex coat.

I'm not sure where the imitation Ivory came from, it was given to me by a friend. I think he said that it came from Masecraft [ link ] .

Mark, that is a awesome grip. You now got me thinking. Like Billy said, that should be on a mantle.
