This is based on a style I saw done by a guy named Roy Bruaer(sp?) in New England.I loved the way he would blend a simple chevron AND or diamond and then make a woven turn at the top. Some of his "woven turns" are so off the hook.

Really nice Mike. I have no idea how you did the bottom. I would have to see it up close and personal.

Andrew...I'm glad you of all people responded to this, as you recognize the "style",being a local. His rods and threadwork are what influenced me into custom rodbuilding. He's influenced alot of people.

Thank you Cliff...simple chevrons to the right with a Sulky multicolor metallic ( blue, pink, and silver...never change the thread spool) Roy would do these elaborate twists and turns at the top of the wrap that were very inspiring for a new builder.I wish I could post pics of some of his work I saw...... Its stuff that inspired me into "weaving into a guide wrap" and all that other stupid stuff I've tried......ANDREW!!! weren't we suppose to hook up for a
Holland exchange a few years
ago...??? lol.

Mike and Billy! Man I have been out of the loop a bit! I have just recently cleaned up my work area to a degree! I will take a peak here and see what Holland I have! Both of your posts look great! Roy's work still makes me scratch my head when I see the loops! I am friendly with his son Johan and I will see if I can get some photos of Roy's stuff for some others to see! I don't know though Mike should we keep it a secret?!! LOL

If Johan can get some pics...that would be great! I'd love to see that wrapping stlye exposed...too cool to be a secret! I use to walk the CC canal counting the "Brauer rods" I saw or the style other builders tried to duplicate. Gotta love the ..."turn at the top". Its a style of wrapping that I envied...very creative. (simple complexity).

Colors often make or break a wrap. This one has a great combination in colors you don't normally see used together. I think they would be particularly good on a gloss grey blank.
