Looks like spiral wraps have made their way into the bass pro circuit, at least with Klein. Maybe a cajun rod? You guys probably already knew of this. I didnt, so was pleasantly surprised when I saw it on "a day on the lake".

Klein may have been one of the first pro bass fisherman to fish with spiral wrapped rods. If I'm not mistaken he was at one time business partners with Rich Forhan with their Weapon brand of jigs.

Rich has built Gary a ton of rods. That may be one of Rich's you're looking at here.
