Harold, not really as the bamboo was already laminated into 1" thick pieces all I did was cut rings out of it with a hole saw, epoxy them together with the acrylic rings and then turn the whole grip. As you can see there are six bamboo rings plus the acrylic that make up the entire grip. The bamboo turned quite well, no splintering which I kinda expected.
