I found that light colored thread posses a slew of problems.

What problems? Whatever problemyou are having, is because you haven't figured out tricks to get lighter colors to work well. I can get teh lighter colors to look perfect...until they actually take the rod fishing and SW makesthe guides rust adn it shows up like a sore thumb...Titanium fixes that. I really like that yellow wrap, it doesn't have the main problem that I seem to be having with light colored thread. On the wrap above I'm sure you can see that the green changes hue because the under paint that I had to use peeled in some areas. I think I have solutions now, but that doesn't fix the rod above that looks terrible. Thanks for the tip about titanium.

DOn't paint underneath, while many suggest it - I personally feel that is the absolute worst thing you can do. People are so anti-underwraps, but if you're gonna paint it, youmisght as well underwrap it. Use 00 or 60wt thread to minimize builk.
