That article was the one which opened up my butt wrapping eyes. I had a difficult time understanding how to shade from CRTA, adn that article set me straight & laid the groundwork for all the shaded wraps I do. CAn't forget that one!!

Funny thing about shading, is that the effect is best viewed from a little distance. Up close, you see all the individual threads. From a few feet back, they blur into a nice shaded effect. I once did a wrap that use about 100 threads in the shading portion. Nicest and most elaborate shaded wrap I ever did. The rod was stolen, of course, about a year after I built it. Probably wound up on a local carp pond.

Nice Clean work Tom. Love the colors, enough bright and enough suttle.

Like Billy, that one picture opened up my eyes as to how it was done.
I must have done about 25 or 30 different fades now and I keep dreaming up
new combinations. Just built a rod for my best friend that has a fade I
designed just for him, which I will never duplicate. Looks great and he liked
it a lot. The fade is a great wrap that just keeps getting better.
