Photo taken with a flash to show the actual colours. I haven't done a tartan for some time and really enjoyed this one.

BEAUTIFUL! HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE STYLE OF WRAP! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. DID YOU USE AN EXISTING PATTERN OR WAS IT DONE ON THE FLY?

hi mark, i'm very keen on doing tartan. on the other hand i always end up with a double diamond. I kept pushing the threads to keep them compact, on the other hand they seems to be rather presistant. how do i go about eliminating the thread space.. hope to hear from you soon

Hi Goh, A Tartan wrap is a double diamond but you have to use Regular A size thread without colour preserver. After the diamonds are finished you wrap Regular white (or another light colour) to fill the background. The background does not have to be tightly wrapped and it is better if it isn't. Then you apply the epoxy and watch it "bleed" into the regular thread creating the tartan effect. When theat coat is dry, you can add some trim threads in metalic or NCP thread and then apply another coat or two of epoxy to finish. Good luck Mark.

Hi Mark, thanks for the swift respond. you rock! it re-affirms my wrapping of tartan effect. I did a picture of the thread space i created (link below)... on the other hand was aiming at the nice sharp streamline you have between each colored thread. thanks for taking time off

Goh, you have set this up right. Now you need to build the pattern outward. Each two or three passes, stop and pack the thread so it is tight at the intersecting points. This will stop it being loose and leaving gaps. Keep wrapping outwards until you are happy with the size of the diamonds and then begin to use white or very light thread to fill in. The background thread does not have to be packed tightly. Good luck, Mark

Hi Mark, very glad to hear from you. All your tips are copied and pasted on my destop. In times of review i'll know where to look for "thread savy" notes. Really appreciated, Thanks mate
