WHat is the difference? All that matters is the outside where you can see the cork. If you didn't have to repair teh rod, you would've NEVER known, and figured tehy get better cork than you do.

Billy - when you go to the ferry landing to The Statue Of Liberty do you ever consider complaining to those guys who sell authentic Rolexes for "Whatever".
You would never know the value until you tried to hock it back to them!

I just warned someone coming up to NY about those watches, lol!!! YOu cannot believe how many regular NYers buy teh fake Rolexes (Nolex, as I call them), and act as if they are a quality watch. All they care about is that it cost $20, adn looks real

This is one of those fine lines where the manufacturer is not technically misleading anyone. And yet, you can be sure that they are indeed hoping that their customers assume this is a full-fledged solid cork grip. They probably don't say that it is, just something like "features top quality Portuguese cork grips," which it does. They simply omit the fact that it's a veneer type material over foam. I guess the bottom line is that the rods work and most customers will be happy with them. Still, as a custom builder, you should keep these photos in your shop to use for comparison.
