My first attempt with Birch bark. As it was quite thin, it ended up darker than i like after using Tru-oil to finish

It may have ended up darker than you prefer but I think the thin rings and dark color of your grip looks GREAT and it's a nice looking alternative to the light colored birch bark grips.

Thanks for the positive comments! I find I'm getting so involved in grips and reel seats I may not have the time to fish.
Gotta get a grip on this hobby!!!

Great color combination with the burl. Looks like cross cut cocobolo with rich brown and orange hues. Nice!
