The blank begins from the reel seat. The grip part is a graphite extension, that seems to hold up very well. The reel seat is painted at an auto shop. A nice combination between the old and the new.

thank you...it took a while to find all the right stuff for the project:) ...and as far as action goes i like it more than the new sekers, even though i couldn't make it any longer than 6'4"
