I have some Fuji BLAG4J that "seem" about the same or smaller than my Batson 3mm. The Batsons get the line a little further off the blank which is good for conventional wraps. My scale can't weight 10 of these so I'd love to hear from the Scales of justice.

THat might explain why the Batsons are stronger. I've been using teh Fuji MKSG 2.5's on a rod since teh beginning of the year, tehy are much more than strong enough for me. THe weight of the size Fuji 3's is .0007oz, I don't knwo what that relates to in terms of grams or grains, nor do I know how accurate it is, I had to weigh 15 of them on a .001+/- scale.

I like how tall the Batson guides are.

So it looks to me that the Batson guide only will allow the line to sit on the leading edge of the ring. Yet since it sits higher it may mean that it will allow the line to sit further from the blank in a conventional set up meaning one guide less possibly???
yet the fuji looks like its finished better with a better foot angle for a smoother ramp and thread base.

Rolly - Bobby Feazel built up the same blank as I did. Pretty sure he used Fuji 3.5s while I used Batson 3s. Used the same number of guides.
Batson height might allow you to drop a .5 size while still using about the same set up as Fuji 3.5s. More experimenting!

Most rodbuilders ordering these products order one brand name. The photo demonstrates, when discussing guide spacings on similar blanks that it is necessary, at this point in time, to specify exactly which brand and size of guide is being used. Do What You Gotta Do!
