Some of you might reconize the grip work by Rich Gassman. This one of Juniper is very light and has a larger diameter that most cigar grips. Feathers are grizzly hackle & the wraps are Madeira blues.

Raymond- Very nice looking,real smooth looking.
Like the feather inlay also.
I have not built a fly rod yet.My cousin keeps asking me to build him one.However that's on the to do list for 2009 along with learing to do feather inlays and hopfuly some cross wraps.

Interesting rod seat. I don't think I've seen anything like it. What brand is it?

It's a Fuji IPS seat (spinning) mounted in reverse (up locking). You can see them in the middle of the page [ link ]
