Are these reels permanently attached when you build the handle? I'm interested, as I'm building longer ice fishing rods and would like to get away from the slip-rings or messy tape.

In the design Fore grip made turning and reel change very easily. If you are interested in the details that can make additional photos ...

It's a JDM style reel seat. The hardware is under the cork. The next pic shows a bit more: you can just see the aluminium and the cushioning for the reel foot.

danny ross - Sorry, but this reel seat can not buy - it is 100% hand
work. It is customary for the Russian rodbuilders ...

Alexandr, could you show some steps how the fore grip is assembled, I'd like to try this on rod or two, VERY NICE!!!
