Raymond you probably will not believe it but this one did not even want a butt cap and he has asked me to cut off half of the rear piece you see. Maybe he has access to a helium pump and a stopper.

He probablly has a Stopper with a check valve and regulator, for high and low pressure helium injections depending on temperature and reletive humidity.

It looks nice, but I know for myself, I had a rod with a short piece behind the reelseat and I had to change it becuase it pressed into my hand in such a way that my hand was sore from using it. I needed a piece at least 3 inches long so to give my hand a good place to rest.

Mike your reply is duly noted and it really presents the real concept of custom rods. They are not all the same nor is looks the only requirement. They are not only task specific but fisherman specific as well. This tournament fisherman is pitching and palming the reel entire time - the heel of his hand NEVER extends past the end of the piece shown - even on hook set - he never changes hands - he does not care how it looks and only desires weight reduction and functionality for HIM. Also this is a very large diameter flipping blank 0.605 behind the grip piece which will have an effect on hand pressure.

Looks good Bill. I've been thinking about trying something like this for myself.
