my 2nd diamond style wrap. Did it on an old broken surf rod for practice. Color preserver added, no epoxy yet. All gudebrod thread, nylon and metallics.

Looks cool Garret! I Don't think ya need more practice with diamonds as ya got those down pretty well indeed. Ya got some gaps in the threads but you can only see them if ya blow up the photo. Cameras SEE everything! A very fine job though.

Ive got gaps all over this thing. lol. This is the wrap's "good side". The threads started giving me trouble towards the edges of the wrap. The red metallic threads in the diamond without orange started loosening on me. I think it was because i took too much of an angle going from the tape onto the underwrap.
Your compliments and criticism are much appreciated.

Sometimes if the outside threads open back up after you pack them your using a bit to much tension.

Dont be too tough on youself Garrett. Speaking for myself I am glad no one can see my first few wraps. Jean Harrington used to have my first rod and thank goodness it got lost somewhere in all the moving. Practice will show the real potential you have and from what I see it is considerable. Keep em coming.
