How to revese sewing machine motor

To reverse the direction of rotation of a sewing machine motor or any AC/DC motor, it is only necessary to open the motor case to access the wires going to the brushes. Then cut the wires as shown in the Start sketch. Then reconnect the wires to an externally located Double Pole Double Throw Switch as shown in the Finish sketch. The color of the wires are not important. They are shown Red and Black for clarity.
It is absolutely not necessary to access the motor's Field Coil wires.
