This is a 'short' handled version of the carbon skeleton grips I've been using on my stream rods. The seat is a modified Fuji size 18.

Wow Brad, now that's short!! When you say stream rods, what length are we talking? The carbon skins look great man. Tossing little spinners for trout, chub and perch was so much fun back in the day..

Thanks for the compliments! I made it just long enough to protect the reel when the butt is on the ground (or foot/hat). I've used this handle on rods from 5-0 to 6-0 and find 5-6 to be the best length for my favorite 12' wide wild trout stream.

That is a beautiful grip. I like the "short" idea. It reminds me of when I was a kid and I used my dad's 6' Fenwick flyrod as a spinning rod. I used to lock the reel on at the back end of the cork and hold the grip in front of the reel. I have several small SCIII blanks that I'm building soon and I may use a grip similar to this. I also fish many small trout streams in central PA and small rods with small grips are the ticket.
