is this what I should be seeing? Seems "calcified"??? so, how do I tuck this hardened sking up agains t or into the grip so it lays neatly??

The skin is parted off per the instructions in Volume 11 #1 RodMaker. Part off just barely beyond the ends of the core. This leaves the skin rounded over the end and the remaining foam that shows near the center is hidden by the seat, winding check or butt cap. Photos of the process will be in the Volume 11 #4 RodMaker due out in August.
