TOUCHDOWN!!! A couple of tips - next rod make sure teh rod is level in the drying motor, as it seems teh tip was higher than teh butt the way the epoxy settled. Also, try applying a little less epoxy to prevent the footballs.

Nice! A few more suggestions to add onto Billy's. Try to shorten the length of the wraps as well. It isn't as important for the stripper guides, but as you progress up the rod, weight becomes a big issue. And the biggest contributor making a rod heavier, less sensitive, slower action is the weight of the guides and the weight of the guide feet wrappings.

Thanks for the tips, there is more to this than an beginner like me ever thought. Without the help and info from this site, I would still be in the dark about the many steps and talent it takes in making rods. I am hooked on this.
