Foam core, E glass skinned, one coat Diamondite w/copper pigment. The E glass sleeving is real easy to work. Dries clear or add pigment for any base color you want. This was my first experiment with it and the ideas are flowing.

Very nice looking indeed. I wonder how the various skins stack up against one another in terms of strength? Certainly the variance in sleeving material opens up a whole world of colour and grip possibilities.

The sleeves don't really do much other than provide surface hardness for the outside of the grip. The blank provides lateral strength for the core. So I don't think one skin is really going to do any more for you than another. They all pretty much do what they are required to do.
Nice looking grip by the way. I'm curious about that little insignia area near the opposite end.

It is my lame attempt at a Redfish spot. Black Sharpie and grey paint pen. I won't even post my first (or second) try at a Mahi finish. I'm currently building an 8wt and 10wt that I would like to use those finishes with.
