Hi Mike,
Great job on your handle. If this is your first, can't wait to see your 10th! Zebrawood and Bocote are heavy woods, how does the rod balance?

Actually it balances out quite well with the reel attached. I wanted to get this rod a little less tip heavy for him to see if he likes it better than his others. I also like the two woods but I know that my next one will be made with lighter (easier to turn!!) woods. I noticed that the maple trim rings turned so eassily and then when I got into the Zebra with my sharp tools it just skipped off of the wood. I think it took around 6 or so hours of turning to get it where I wanted.
