OK guys. I have finished the grip and seat on my first rod. I weaved a lighthouse between the grips. Turned out Ok since I didn't know what I was doing. Broke a couple threads tring to get it tight but didn't know how to fix it so it is what it is.

Thanks Owen. I did read Doc's tutorial and tried to follow as close as possible but I had a few hand slips and broke some threads. Ended up pulling the threads all the way out. Some of the gaps were due to this. Before doing this weave I hadn't done as much as wrap a guide yet and still haven't wraped a guide. I talked with Jim Upton in some detail at the rod show in High Point and was able to make it to his beginners weaving class at the show. Other than that I have just read what is on this board. Lots of good information. Thanks for everyones help.

Well Chand you did a fine job. That is a very agressive wrap for a first shot.

Thanks Doc. This is no where close to your level but I it was good experience. I had a good time but I did curse alot. I had to lay it down several times and recoup.
