Sort of. Continue sanding with a finer grit and see what develops. You may be okay. Generally you'll want to shape with 60 or 80, then move to 100 and then 150 for the final finishing. Not much need to go further than that since you'll be covering it with a skin.

OK...I'm confused. I have yet to pour my own, but why is it black?

Harold - I used a black pigment when I poured the foam. I read that someone had small white patches showing through the weave in their fiber skin after their initial attempt at pouring foam, so I thought I'd use their experience and others input to try and head off the problem by tinting my core.
