Finished up the main part of the Rose last night, logging an additional 3 hours...which FLEW by since I had old Beavis and Butthead episodes playing on my laptop in teh background, lol all night.

The bandsaw blade left a nice finished look, so you can actually see what the pattern will look like when sanded down on the grip. Splitting this into 2 took about 15 seconds, but it was nerve racking since the inlay "block" wasn't uniform in size, fortunately it came out PERFECT.

Doug, I think I am going to have to go that route, I had planned to do the ROse in teh butt grip, a butterfly in the foregrip, but it just is too mismatched. My original plan was a split grip with ROses, with a Butterfly wrap (a new one) in between. Then the foregrip a buterfly, with a Rose wrap in front. It's just too much going one, so I'm gonna simplify it and make it look good, instead of my normal routine to make it guady, lol. THanks Jim!!

Billy, I like the look of the latest work. I think your mom will be thrilled with the rod, it will be truly unique.
