Excellent! This, and your post/pic that follows, show my most favoured type of builds here in N.E.; and they are the ones that I think are really where the major market is, at least for freash water; and I really like how far you have taken the modified/trimmed-out seats Bill. I also like your thoughtful trimming of the threaded portion, and the thoughtful spacing to the hookeep. Curiously though...I have chosen burl whereas you seem to be using traditional...maybe I'm putting more into than is really needed...but wait, I dont see any flocking..what gives?

Hi Stephen: The only thing that does not give is TIME! The reel seats come that way and are not modified. I don't have time to burl it with rings and there is some flock in the pic that you do not recognize. The hookkeep is placed there to be behind the blank when pitching to minimize hanging on line when stripping.

Looks good Bill! I will be calling you about some seats. In your spare time - come up with a radical new spinning seat! Wink

Radical spinning seat - how about if the new design looked like a "scythe" - then it would match the use of a reel that looked like a "haybailer" to a Southern Bubba honorary member of the bait caster fraternity! )>
