Hope I don't get busted for posting a pic of this magazine cover, Kayak Magazine, but the shot really shows the reason to acid or spiral wrap rods, check out the twisting of the guides-hope it shows up in the pic, I'm hanging a copy in my workshop to show folks who question acidwrapping, anybody want a copy, email me. If nothing else, its good advertising for the magazine.

I also like the picture in the Cabelas catalog for their whuppin stick. Shows things really good at what is happening with the rod.

Kind of leads me to beleive that this is what caused a couple of heavy jigging composite rods I built to "delaminate"...holy twist! (of course someone will think that the guides aren't close enough to the blank, the spine wasn't aligned proper, or some such arguement ) Looks to me that the line is just plain old wants to be under the rod...by any means necessary. Physics.
