This is a 40 points wrap on a GUSA Challenger URC55XH 30-80#. Even though the blank is rated 50-80#, teh diameter of the blank where I did the wrap is only 12mm.

HAndle is Hypalon with Hypalon inlays. The bottom pic shows the underwraps for a guide wrap, which I didn't do a good job planning, thus it is not symetrical where I cut the patterns off. I LOVE this wrap, but it needs a larger diameter blank to be wrapped on. I also hacked up the colors choosing to many dark BLues against the Black background.

That's really sharp, Billy. Looks great with the integrated fade.

Believe me, it looks better in the picture then in real life. The Blue disappears into the background, and the pattern is very small on the blank.

That looks splendid. 4o points on 12 mm is a lot of wrap on a samall blank. Is wonderful Billy. I hope to see after finish.

Looks good to me Billy. I've been doing a few GUSA's lately and really like them but as you say, the diameters don't leave a great deal of room for larger style wraps. The 40 point is one I have wanted to try but haven't had a blank diameter large enough.

Mark - Maybe on a split grip rod, or even better....use 60wt MAdeira or 00 Gudebrod. Smaller thread will let the pattern build large enough without wrapping around. I have a lot of 60wt, I'm scared to use it.

" I love the smell of Madeira (napalm) in the morning" ..Appocalypse Now. This is the toughest wrap in the book IMHO. It aint called 40 points for nothing. Its a 60wt pattern and a 40 wt background kind of wrap. Eleven.

How many 40`s did it take to finish this one? As always sweet wrap. Wish I had the time to experiment a little more.

How many 40's, huh? The is only 6 passes, which I actually took the time to layout the cross over points on. I did 1 packing pass after 5, leaving enough for the last pass on teh inside boxes. ONce I closed the pattern I threw 4 background passess, packed and went to bed angry. Honestly, it probably only took me 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get the pattern on the blank & packed, and another 45 minutes for the background. The next night I did the entire GReen wrap in one sitting, adn didn't come back to this for 4 days as I was gonna cut it off. I figured since it's a Demo rod which I will never use, it wasnt' worth it.
