It's my second attempt at a full well grip. Still not sure of the proportions, but it seems better than my last attempt. The grip is made with Walnut, Maple, Bloodwood, and Aluminum. The only thing I'm not sure about is the reel seat. I need to dig through my burl box and find a better piece of wood for the reel seat. Thanks Mark.

Side shot is INSANE. Love this one. The way it meets up in the center reminds me of those funky drawings they show me at the psychiatrists office, I always see naked women, and they tell me it is actually a barn.

OK! Now you're showing off!!!!!!!!!! LOL As usual, it's awesome. Everytime I think you reached the top, you go over it!! I hope you bring some of these to High Point!! I'm sure they could find some display space in the NERB's booth

Mike, Mark has prime real estate at the NERBs booth to display his art, but he has other uncontrollable issues to deal with. I can only try to pressure him so much....but I won't dare try to try to convince the uncontrollable issues or I might find myself in hot water when I go up there to fish with him in April. I'm already regulated to my own couch here in NY, I'd hate to be banished to teh futon in Wisconsin, I guess I've learned my lesson. This grips is really amazing adn I cannot wait to see it in person.

Terry, no offence was taken. I'm actually looking for opinions and I appreciate your take on it. I have spent a couple of hours looking at the grip and think I may know why it looks off to me. In order to keep the grain running the same direction (in the main grip), the walnut grain is perpendicular to the axis of the blank. The reel seat is running parallel to the axis. It has a different grain pattern running this way and has a different hue than the main grip. I'm going to make a reel seat with the grain running perpendicular and see what it looks like. Terry and Mark C I appreciate your candor, you saved me butchering a perfectly nice piece of burl. Thank you all for the kind words Mark.
P.S. Billy even if I don't make it to High Point this grip and several others will, and you always have a place to stay in Wisconsin sans futon.

Mark, this is a bloody ripper handle mate (Aussie slang for really great). Your craftsmanship is truely outstanding and gets better with each new handle. Hey Billy, I want to go to your psych. Sounds to good to be true!

Mark. You say you have spent a couple of hours looking at the grip. I am willing to spend many more hours stairing at it, free of charge! If you like? Excellent work again. Cheers Paul.

Mark, Al, Michael, Tony and Paul Thanks for the kind words. Al I checked the vacation schedule at work and the dates for the expo are already spoken for. I probably won't be able to make High Point this year. This grip and 3 others plus a couple of complete rods will however make the trip and will be at the NERB's booth (lucky rods).
