Interesting - details? What type of bark (white, red pine, jackpine, blue spruce???) And how was the pitch to deal with?

Not completely sure about the species. The tree was completely dead and all branches had fallen off. I believe ti was a yellow pine (pinus echinata)
pitch was a non-issue.


I used a 2" hole saw to cut rings, sanded the ends flat and perpendicular to the side and treat them like cork. they are a bit tougher to ream
