Hello Fred, thank you for your comments, they really make sense to me. Yes you are 100% right they are nickel silver ferrules and not iron ones, when I posted this picture I was unable to remember the correct word.
I have used thread coat on the wraps as this was my first bamboo rod I didn’t know how to deal with the flats. Nevertheless I find “rounded” flats also nice, i have to think about it for the second rod.
