Very Slight Deflection Problem with ring height on Alconites. I am forced to go to higher Batson and would like to use lighter weight guide. hoping to impact Fuji manufanuctureing process for these guides.

Bill, I don't think single foot guides, particularly those, were ever intended to be used on casting rods with the guides on top. Frankly, I'd rather see them stay low just like they are, so the line remains closer to the blank on the spinning and fly rods that they were designed for.

Take a look in the stores - they are on many of the the quality casting rods! Not only are they using them but they are placing them at the old wide conventional spacing used for high V frame guides. Many custom builders are using these guides and I think Fuji needs to recognize that the same higher fly frames used for the Hardloy series should be availible for those who desire to use a guide with the correct height in the Alconite series.. Look at the link to a quality rod and the description of the guide set used. -http://www.lamiglas.com/prod_indiv.php?id=17
