(see this users gallery) This is one of my favorites and the thing I am experimenting most with these days. Jorge Pozzobon first taught me this technique of using three or more colors for the underwrap. As long as you use the same number of threads for your overwrap and underwrap - and pull out all but one thread on the overwrap - you get the effect. The spaces in between are larger so you get some really cool color fades and changes. This is NCP red, blue and yellow underneath with regular A light blue over the top. As Jorge pointed out, the colors blend and you get five or more colors out of the wrap...most who look at it call it a tye dye wrap.
I am very close to working out a very cool camo pattern using four or five colors underneath but it is not ready for prime time yet.
This wrap is obviously unfinished (needs trim, label, etc.) but you get the idea. In my opinion, this is a great match for the bright blue SCIV blanks.
Of all the holo wraps in my shop (30 ), everyone seems to like this one best. Thanks again to Scott and Bill.
And muchas gracias, Jorge. |
