Just something I whipped up this morning. It's cherry and white oak with a CA finish buffed a bit with white diamond. I don't really have a rod for it yet but I think I can find it a home.

Nice. What did you use to cut the wood?

This was fairly easy to make. From start to finish, it took me less than an hour. It was made with standard 10" Delta miter saw and a Delta midi lathe. I used an arbor on my jacobs chuck with a buffing wheel to finish it off. If you want detailed instructions on how to make this, just shoot me an email.

If you look at the EVA Barney colored (lol) grip picture you'll see the same thing with Red, I was just curious how thick the blade was to make the cuts. Was the wood the same thickness as the blade?

Yes the slices were cut the same thickness as the kerf on the saw blade. I just took a piece of the oak and cut 1/8" 45deg slices off the square blank. Then once I had the 4 slices cut, I cut the cherry blank at 45deg and then superglued an oak slice right where The blade just cut the cherry. then after a minute or so, I glued the cherry piece I cut off back onto the cherry blank with the oak slice glued to it making it square again. Repeat 3 more times, mark the center and turn on the lathe.

Very nice Celtic Knot. It should make a very attractive trim for the rod. All of the points come together which is hard to do with a 45 degree angle. Very well done.

That came out great, it will look sweet on a rod.
