On the left is the Jig Master 500 gm blank from Japan and on the right is the Calstar GF 760 L 30-80 lb. Both butts were chopped, the JM by 1 foot and the Calstar by 6" to build heavy deep ocean jiggers.

Anthony have you tried one of the Japanese SEED blanks. They are something truely great for heavy jigging and you won't have to chop them.

Mark, yes I have but most find them too soft at the tip. I am waiting the return of the Matagi Fixer Extra, 60 lb, 5'3", as powerful as the Jig Master but lighter. Mamoru has been out of stock for nearly a year and I am still waiting.
