Hi a little bit of a detailed photo. Basically cut a nice pen cap to your desired length, put a hole in the top for line and one a little bit up from the base, cut a slit from base to hole above base. Slide cap on line and rig your bait Texas rig and push it into cap until hook shank is captured in hole at the base. Have fun and see all the things your plastics are capable of now. Have a great day, Rich.

Thanks for the pic, it's a neat idea. I have a question, how do you get the hole for that the line go through smooth enough so there are no problem with the line rubbing, or is the plastic soft enough you don't have to worry? Thanks.

Hi Stan, I use a small wire shaft and lighter to heat the end of the shaft. Heat the shaft end a little and carefully push the shaft threw the plastic cap to make the holes where you want them. If you keep the shaft inside the cap where it is not hot, for a few seconds and rotate it a little you will end up with a smooth hole, then pull the shaft out of the cap when the shaft is pretty cold. I have never had problems with the line rubbing on the cap. You will want to re-tie your line when you think necessary because since the bait will last so much longer you may tend to forget that the line will still get worn from fish and general fishing. Have a great day, Rich.
