What made you cut the rod down? Did it change the action much on that blank?

Thank you. No the grips came from Batson.

I cut the rod down so it would be easier to get in and out of my rod locker. I took it off the butt end and this slowed the action a touch and it reduced the power (very little).

I Ask because I use a GUSA 711H which I cut down to 7'6, adn was wondering if he SC rected teh same way post-amputation. Would be great to be able to compare blanks based on how they are cut before cutting.

Nicely done Stan.
I got to see those carbon fiber pieces at the gathering at Lamiglas in Woodland last April. That reminds me, still need to get some!

Thank you for the nice words. I have a Calais to put on it and am going to give it a workout tomorrow on some NH smallies.

Anyplace that sells Baston/Forecast products should be able to get these, I got them from Anglers workshop.

Billy if you cut from the butt the rod will lose power and there is a way to measure this and the action of the blank without cutting, if you are interested in the way I do it please feel free to email me.
