Was trying to brighten up my old turning bench. Had a bunch of old mirror that I removed from another room and found a new home for it. Only problem is that old ugly guy looking back at me.

Nice set up. I'm particularly fond of the book in teh bottom right, lol. YOu have to re-wrap that wooden handle rod spiral, come on!! How's that handle working out for you? Hopefully you've been able to take it off the bench, it's only been a month since you finished it.

Nice idea. I would have a problem with it. I'd wind up breaking them and then I'd have more bad luck.

Thanks everyone. Billy I have had that rod out several times and it works great. I have been lucky enough to catch a bunch of fish with it and the handle seems to be holding up just fine. Now I need to find some more time and start procticing what I learned in that book. LOL, never enought time. Jim, as hard as this old mirror is, I think I could drop a hammer on it. It was really hard to cut. Now watch I will brake it today. LOL I have more.

Fred, The picture may make it seem a little futher than it is. The first bench in 12" I like it because when I slide the chair under the bench I can rest my elbows on the lower bench while I work and my hands are at the right level. I don't really feel like I am leaning in at all.

It looks aeseptic unlike mine. Look at it this way, when you sit down to work on your rods, you will have someone to talk to.
