Mainly learing that the pattern shrinks as you lathe it down. Thanks Clive you forgot to tell me that part. LOL This piece ended up to long for what I wanted it for and just did not fit the over all look. But it has me planning for the next time.

Very nice Alan, one trick I have found to keep the ellipicals aligned. I put a witness mark (triangle shaped) across the area before I cut. It gives me two more reference points to help realign the elliptical and keep all the points in line. I do like the look of the material, and the ellipticals are a lot of fun to work with.
